NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- A 22-year-old North Providence man has been ordered held without bail following his arrest on narcotics charges.

Elroy Orlando Crump, of 3 Polly Drive, was picked up by state police in Lincoln March 11 on a North Providence warrant charging him with the possession and distribution of crack cocaine.

Police said that when they went to Crump's home on March 8, they seized 169 pieces of crack cocaine with an estimated street value of $5,040, other loose chunks of a white-rock substance valued at $5,000, and razor blades and scales commonly used in the distribution of drugs.

Justice of the Peace Bernard Lemos conducted a special arraignment on March 11 and ordered Crump to be held without bail.
